This week end home has been evolved with concepts in sustainable design. An old redundant well has been revived and the entire site’s run-off has been directed to this well, through a system of open gravel bed swales, perforated pipes and surface run-off. The existing landform and trees have been retained. The periphery has been treated with tree cover and gravel bed as base, as a surface absorbing rain water. Native grasses, trees and shrubs have been used, for a natural feel and ecological relevance.
